NEW YORK – Luxury bed linen maker Butterfly Dreams has teamed up with Fil-Am celebrity interior designer, Tyler Wisler, to create a new limited edition collection.

Wisler was featured on the American cable channel’s top rated series HGTV Design Star series and on NBC’s weekly home improvement show George to the Rescue.

Working with Butterfly Dreams co-founder and creative director, Filipina interior designer Edith Coronacion McCosker, Wisler designed the bedding collection, which comes in warm ivory and taupe pairings, cool white and grey combinations, as well as purple and grey.

“I always say that great design is whatever makes you happy, and I believe what would make anyone happy is to slumber away in affordable luxury. I wanted to create a line of bedding that is sexy, with smart detailing, to make everyone feel like a rock star!” explained the Hawaiian-born Wisler, who is principal of his own high-end design firm Tyler Wisler Home in New York City.

“Superior bedding can only happen with superior fabric selections. Edith and I carefully went through dozens upon dozens of samples until we found the softest fibers. We then refined the colors to the exact shades and color palettes that would work in any environment. I really felt like the bedding needed another element, a bit of edge… and who doesn’t love the look of leather?” he added, explaining why the Tyler Wisler Home duvet covers, pillowcases & flat sheets have a beautiful leather inspired trim detail.

For Butterfly Dreams, the Tyler Wisler Home line marks an evolutionary step for a business that originally began in Hong Kong in 2007 with the goal of redefining peoples’ concept of their bed linen through high-quality fabrics.

“Up until now our focus has been on quality, luxurious materials that are long-lasting with a minimal impact on the environment. Becoming more design-conscious was a natural step and collaborating with Tyler has been such an easy and joyful process that I can only see us expanding this aspect of our range. I love the results: they’re so simple, yet elegant and stylish!” said McCosker.

“I don’t know if it is because we both share a design background or that we both have roots in the Philippines – I was born and raised in Manila and Tyler is what we call a Fil-Am – but we hit it off from the start and working together was so easy. Maybe some of it is his ‘aloha spirit’ too?  The wonderful thing about the collaboration was the questions Tyler asked us about how we could make the new line a little bit more special. Because of that, we’ve managed to make further improvements to our microfiber fabric, and increased the thread count in our cotton.” she added.

The Tyler Wisler Home line is now available online from Butterfly Dreams, www.butterflydreams.co. An exclusive launch in New York is scheduled later this year.
