MANILA – If one stuck around long enough to watch the ad by Ace Saatchi & Saatchi for Resorts World Manila that’s been on pre-roll for a while now, they would have seen a woman cracking open what is perhaps the best fortune one can get for a cookie: 1 million pesos.
The stunt was held on January 24, was meant to open Resorts World Manila’s annual Imperial Festival.
Diners at a food-tasting event at Resorts World Manila’s Passion restaurant were taken by surprise when some 200 fortune cookies were served and a host announced that one of them had the cash prize.
According to the agency, “the stunt was developed behind RWM’s campaign idea: the World of Luck. The campaign brings to life RWM’s brand essence of — Thrills Like No Other. And what better way to demonstrate this than to capture a genuine, real life thrilling experience of a RWM patron.”
“Given the Imperial Festival theme, the agency used the ‘fortune cookie’ as a device to bring luck to the patrons of RWM. This is part of a resort-wide promo held during the Imperial Festival, where various prizes could be won inside the fortune cookie. The 1M stunt was the showcase video to promote this,” it said.
