Work hard, play hard at Ad Summit Pilipinas 2014

MANILA – With its rockstar lineup of speakers, Ad Summit Pilipinas promises to be a rich learning experience for participants. 

The much-awaited advertising and marketing event, to be held at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, features presentations from industry icons such as Emily Abrera and Merlee Jayme. The lineup also includes global speakers Cheuk Chiang, CEO of Omnicom Media Group APAC; Tom Doctoroff, APAC CEO of JWT Asia; Dick Van Motman, chairman and CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network SEA; and Sandipan Roy, APAC Regional Strategy Director.  

Still, there will be plenty of time for play, especially with the variety of attractions and activities that Subic has to offer. 
 
“The Summit couldn’t ask for a better staging ground than the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center—Work and fun, all in the same place,” Ad Summit chair Matec Villanueva, said in a press release.
 
“Seeing as the area is one of the strongest economic zones in the Philippines, you can expect things to be taken a step further, with an assortment of attractions and activities which cater to everyone’s tastes,” she added.
 
For nature, flora and fauna enthusiasts, Subic Bay Freeport Zone boasts of many eco-tourism spots, such as Ocean Adventure, Triboa Mangrove Park, Subic Botanical Garden, and the Zoobic Safari.

With 11 bird-watching sites, as well as numerous roadside spots, the Subic Bay Freeport area is a bird watcher’s paradise. Subic Bay has 48 recorded bird species—from small birds such as theGreen Imperial Dove and the Crested Myna, to birds of prey such as Brahminy Kite, Crested Serpent Eagle, and Philippine Scops-Owl, as well as more exotic avians such as the Tarictic Hornbill.
 
Subic Bay Freeport Zone is also home to many local, regional, and international sports events, from marathons and triathlons to car, bike, and horse races to target shooting and golf.
 
Subic Bay is also the location of several well-known shipwrecks—remnants of the Spanish-American War of 1898, and of World War II’s temporary Japanese occupation of the Philippines—making it one of the best wreck dive sites in the country.
 
Participants can also get a dose of history and culture by visiting sites such as the Spanish Gate, an old structure used as a jail gate during the Spanish and early American eras, as well as the Olongapo Museum, which depicts the area’s history through a series of dioramas, are easily accessible. There is also a nearby Aeta village, where many of the inhabitants still practice age-old habits and traditions.
 
Subic Bay Freeport Zone also offers duty-free shopping, nightlife, and fine dining. For a taste of the place’s festivities, visit the Boardwalk Park.
