MANILA – Local content ruled Google’s recent release of their YouTube Ads leaderboard for the first half of 2015, as a majority of popular ads in Pinoys chose to watch—7 out of 10—were created with them in mind. Representing 10 ads that resonated with online audiences over the past 12 months, some key trends noted were local creativity, the prevalent use of filmmaking styles, and made-for-digital content.
YouTube has noted that the Filipino audience watch time is growing 60% year on year, compared to the average of 50%. And with 85% skippable ads on YouTube, this challenges content creators to come up with compelling ads.
The top three ads will be announced by Google PH on Friday, June 26. In no particular order, the top 10 ads are:
