AKLAN — Gracing the Kidlat Awards in Boracay this year as a member of the jury is the multi-awarded creative, Y&R Malaysia ECD Gigi Lee.
Lee has judged for various shows around the world such as AdStars, New York Festival, Spikes, The One Show, The Clios, and Cannes. So, her addition to the roster of the other biggest names in the industry judging this year’s Kidlat entries only prove that the winners that will be chosen are the best among the best.
Lee has also been named as Asia’s third most awarded art director by Campaign Magazine, and was shortlisted for Southeast Asian Creative of the Year by Campaign Brief in 2013.
In an interview with adobo magazine, Lee encourages the young creatives to take advantage of the technology that is now readily available for everyone, “For older generations like us, we don’t actually have computer support and internet support during our time. You have it now, making life easier for [you].”
She also adds that despite the tight competition, the young ones should “just keep exploring and keep trying” in order to make it in this business.
Before Y&R Malaysia, Lee has worked for Saatchi & Saatchi as Head of Design, O&M Malaysia as Head of Art and Design, and as Design Director at LB/ARC Malaysia.
