To accommodate the growing local audience for visual art, Art Fair Philippines 2018 will spread out over six levels of The Link in Makati, taking over all available floors. The carpark building will once again morph into a multi-level exhibition venue as 51 participating galleries showcase the best in modern and contemporary Philippine art from March 1 to 4, 2018.

The sixth edition of Art Fair Philippines will introduce a new section, ARTFAIRPH/PHOTO.  This focus aims to increase awareness for photography as contemporary art and expand its collectability among Filipinos.

“We feel that the time is right to do this, as the fair has opened up the exposure of Manila’s audience to various visual art practices. Hopefully, photography can finally find its place in our local art scene”, according to Lisa Periquet, co-founder of the fair.

ARTFAIRPH/TALKS and ARTFAIRPH/TOURS, the fair’s programs organized in conjunction with the Ateneo Art Gallery and the Museum Foundation of the Philippines respectively, will continue to support the fair’s educational component.

Another highlight of the fair, ARTFAIRPH/PROJECTS, are new commissions from internationally established practitioners; participating artists will be announced in February 2018.

Continuing to complement the fair is the 10 Days of Art initiative, a series of events and museum openings around Metro Manila to celebrate art beyond the venue of the fair in the days leading up to its opening.

“With the record attendance of Art Fair Philippines 2017, we’ve seen how the interest in Philippine contemporary art has grown. Securing a bigger space is the natural next step for us not only to expand our reach but also to be able to shine the spotlight on more artists,” says Dindin Araneta, fair co-founder.

Trickie Lopa, also the fair’s co-founder adds, “This expansion allows us to stay true to our mission of developing the audiences for contemporary art. And we are very excited to stage our biggest show yet!”

Art Fair Philippines 2018 is co-presented by Ayala Land Inc, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Globe Platinum, Julius Baer, and Bench.
