PATTAYA, THAILAND – ADFEST 2025 will feature a masterclass on duration with Black White Grey Director Vishal Sagar, “How to Master Duration: 6 Seconds to 600 Seconds.” This workshop will explore the art of storytelling across diverse media formats, equipping creatives with the skills to craft compelling narratives for any timeframe.
As brands navigate an evolving media landscape, the ability to craft compelling narratives across different timeframes has become crucial. Vishal’s session will provide creatives with the skills to develop ad films tailored for multiple durations, from quick 6-second bumper ads to in-depth 600-second branded content.
“How to Master Duration: 6 Seconds to 600 Seconds” will provide attendees with a deep understanding of how storytelling adapts across different timeframes, from brief 6-second ads to extended 10-minute narratives. The session will cover techniques for structuring stories of varying lengths and explore the impact of duration on storytelling dynamics.
The workshop will feature case studies from successful campaigns, hands-on exercises, and real-time discussions with feedback. By the end, participants will gain practical strategies to tailor their ideas for any screen or format, enhancing the versatility and effectiveness of their work.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, 22 March, from 10:00 to 13:00, in Room Pattaya 3, Mezzanine Floor, PEACH. Pre-registration is required.
Vishal has spent 16 years in advertising across mainline, digital, and in-house agencies. He believes that advertising thrives on understanding people deeply. He champions the idea that great work is rooted in courage, not just talent. According to Vishal, it is brave ideas that disrupt culture and push creative boundaries.
He made history by writing and directing BYJU’S ad film, which became the first-ever Indian commercial to win at the Filmfare Awards, India’s equivalent to the Oscars. He is also credited with pioneering India’s maiden AI-crafted music video. Recently, Vishal wrote and directed India’s second longest ad film, clocking in at 24 minutes and 25 seconds. In an era marked by fleeting attention spans and bite-sized formats, this monumental project underscores his dedication to reshaping the advertising landscape through enduring storytelling and impeccable craft.
