Tata Tea Gold promotes the ‘Power of 49’

ASIA-PACIFIC – INDIA, AUGUST 23, 2013 – Tata Tea has launched a campaign which demonstrates the impact women can make on a nation.

49% of voters in India are women, yet they are not aware of their statistics and power. Their votes can make or break a government.
In the campaign, Tata Tea Gold shares the story of the tea’s long leaves opening up in a boiling water , much like how women should open up their minds in this season of great power. It is a message for women to show the nation what the 49% can do.

Amer Jaleel, national creative director of Lowe Lintas, tells: “Given the times we live in today, it is absolutely necessary for us to empower women. It is imperative that the world be told that women must not be treated the way they are, that they are a force to reckon with; especially politicians and governance who can do so much more to better the way things are for women in India, but aren’t doing much.”
