MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The City of Firsts hosted on Sunday, February 20, Quezon City’s inoculation of almost 3,000 kids in a vibrant and entertaining vaccination drive at the New Frontier Theater.

The Araneta Group, through the arrangements of J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF), has allowed the city government to use the historic theater for free to assist in the faster rollout of COVID-19 vaccines for minors.

The vaccination site was festooned with balloons and other festive decors to amuse the vaccinees ages 5 to 11 years old. Mascots and balloon twisters provided entertainment to the children, and giveaways were distributed as a reward for a ‘jab’ well done.

“With Araneta City being a center of leisure and entertainment, we want to incorporate this to the experience of our young vaccinees. This way, they will be less anxious and stressed before and after they receive their COVID jabs,” according to Marjorie Go, AVP for Marketing of Araneta City.

To secure the observance of safety and health protocols, marshalls were deployed in the area to implement proper social distancing. Upon entry to the theater, vaccinees and their guardians underwent temperature checks and other sanitation procedures.

Through JAAF, the Araneta Group also partnered with the city government in administering COVID vaccines for adults and free RT-PCR tests for the general public. Since the pandemic hit the country in 2020, the company has put in place safety protocols to keep its businesses safe for its employees and customers with its slogan “Safety First at the City of Firsts”.
