MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Edukasyon.ph was named one of the top innovators in Deloitte’s The WorldClass Education Challenge, featured in Forbes and the UN General Assembly! With Deloitte’s support, Edukasyon.ph is spearheading the Tech-Voc Career Accelerator Program, which aims to aid youth not in education, employment, and training (NEET) in pursuing education and their passion for technical-vocational work.

In May 2021, Deloitte and the World Economic Forum launched The WorldClass Education Challenge, an initiative geared towards making education, particularly in Africa and Asia, more accessible. Earlier this September, 12 out of almost 400 submissions on the digital platform UpLink were selected to work with Deloitte professionals. Included in the cohort is Edukasyon.ph’s Tech-Voc Career Accelerator Program, with partnership manager Regina Agustin at the helm.

The Philippines’ unemployment rate was at 7.7% and the youth unemployment rate at 14.5%, meaning 1.12 million young Filipinos were without jobs as of May 2021, according to a July article from BusinessWorld. Additionally, there are currently 4 million students unenrolled, giving significant cause for the disconnect between education and employment in the country.

The Tech-Voc Career Accelerator Program seeks to address this through a gamified learning platform called Quests, a unique feature of the Edukasyon.ph website packaging interactive articles, quizzes, and other learning materials. The Quests are free for all users of the Edukasyon.ph platform and will focus on cultivating soft skills that are in-demand across different industries, containing learning modules that are relatable and easy to digest for Gen-Z learners.

Edukasyon.ph CEO Grace David says, “We’ve been steadfast in creating education solutions and opportunities for our learners, not just for those who are enrolled in schools but also for those passionate learners who don’t have the same access. We yearn to see an equitable education landscape—and we’re more than ecstatic to be at forefront of making this possible.”

At Edukasyon.ph, it is our goal to help the Filipino youth make their future less scary and to inspire the next—together!
