MANILA, PHILIPPINES — From the moment of its launch in February of this year, the Miss Universe Philippines and Kumu collaboration has set its intention on digitalization of the beauty pageant industry to bring the experience closer to its fans from beginning to end.
The collaboration made the opportunity to become the next Miss Universe PH easier and more interactive, providing aspirants with a safe space and a level playing field.
Through the kumu klips audition process, they were able to introduce themselves to the community. Audiences got to know them more authentically with the Kumuniverse Exclusive program and MUPH Spotlight TV, where one can watch the candidates’ livestreams and. The partnership was also able to create the Kumuniverse Selection winner, where MUPH finalist Shawntel Cruz will achieve her dream of taking the big stage as she represents Benguet.
Campaigns such as Kumuniverse For A Cause also empowered kumunizens to give back to the community, offering P100,000 to give to their charity of choice. More than that, special campaigns provided performers and fans in the kumunity an opportunity to become part of the pageant’s final program. Anji Salvacion from PBB won the chance to share the stage with the MUPH contestants and serenaded us LIVE at the MUPH preliminaries and Ayn Bernos got to co-host a special backstage coverage of the Finals.
Ayn joined Bianca Guidoti and Carla Lizardo to host the kumu Lounge where a unique viewing of the Finals last April 30, 2022 was streamed by over 140,000 kumunizens. In an interactive experience that combined the powers of live streaming and live coverage, celebrities like Sam Concepcion, Morisette Amon and Ez Mil among others stopped by for a watch party like no other.
Fans and their favorite hosts and personalities got to share their comments in real time, talk about their favorite candidates and bond over iconic pageant moments. Not to mention, Kumunity pageant fans witnessed the very first interview of the MUPH winner, Celeste Cortesi, at the Kumu Lounge!
Kumu and MUPH have shown us a more collaborative, community-based blueprint for pageantry, creating once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and genuine connections like never before. The journey has been extraordinary for both aspirants and fans, and this is only the first of many exciting Philippine pageantry things to come on kumu!
