KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — GIFTEE MALAYSIA, a Malaysian subsidiary of Japan-based giftee, Inc., announced a partnership with Häagen-Dazs for all their stores in Malaysia today. Since its founding in 1960, Häagen-Dazs has grown to become an exclusive premium ice cream chain all around the world, with over 15 growing outlets in Malaysia to provide a real and fulfilling ice cream experience. They join a growing list of global brands like Maybank, Prudential, Samsung, and Fujifilm to be part of the Giftee ecosystem in Malaysia.

With this collaboration, Häagen-Dazs is now integrated with Giftee Malaysia’s eGift system, which allows customers to both purchase and redeem eGifts. Redemption of Häagen-Dazs eGifts is available at all outlets nationwide. The premium ice cream brand will no longer have to rely on the time-consuming and inefficient practice of paper distribution, as Giftee’s eGift system handles all steps from eGift issuance to distribution.

The Häagen-Dazs eGift vouchers will also be available to purchase via Giftee Malaysia’s “giftee for Business” solution. This enables companies to send eGifts to consumers as a reward for taking part in their promotional activities or campaigns.

Häagen-Dazs is another amazing brand to join our portfolio and we are excited to have them on board and to add their delicious products within our ecosystem.”

Make gift-giving simpler and faster than ever for businesses

The pandemic has accelerated the adoption of digital gift cards as mobile and digital gifting expands. According to recent research, Malaysia’s gift card industry is expected to grow steadily in H1 2022 and rapidly in H2 2022. The growth momentum is expected to continue over the forecast period, with a CAGR of 14.5 percent between 2022 and 2026. The country’s gift card market will grow from US$1190.1 million in 2021 to US$2385.7 million by 2026.

As the gift card market shifts to a digital-first mindset, retailers and restaurant brands must improve their digital gift card capabilities or risk being left behind. Offering customers a seamless experience when purchasing and redeeming their eGifts can lead to increased use and sales.
