MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Leading Philippine life insurer Pru Life UK and neighboring business unit Prudential (Cambodia) Life Assurance PLC are teaming up to make life protection accessible to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) through Pulse by Prudential, an all-in-one AI-powered health and wealth management app in Cambodia. The goal is to help OFWs secure and build a better future for themselves and their families. This pioneering venture will be rolled out to about 7,000 Filipinos based in the neighboring Southeast Asian country[1].

Pru Life UK’s President and CEO Eng Teng Wong and SVP and Chief Customer Marketing Officer Allan M. Tumbaga together with Prudential Cambodia Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Chakrabarty led the launch of the Overseas Filipino Workers Program.

Pru Life UK President and Chief Executive Officer Eng Teng Wong said, “OFWs are our modern-day heroes, with all the sacrifices they make for their families and their contribution to the economy. We strongly believe that OFWs should have access to products and services that will help them set up a comfortable life in the Philippines after years of working in foreign lands.”

“This collaboration between Pru Life UK and Prudential Cambodia allows the opportunity for Filipinos working and living in Cambodia to be given access to life protection products. This will empower them to take control of their health and wealth, and help them make the most out of life,” Mr. Wong adds.

Through this partnership, geo-targeted advertisements of PRUMySafety, a digital protection product available through Pulse in Cambodia, will be communicated to OFWs there. PRUMySafety provides daily cash benefits upon hospitalization, bone fracture, and death benefit, against road accidents in just a few clicks.

Once OFWs have purchased the coverage in Pulse, they can also get advisory services from Pru Life UK agents who can cater to the OFWs’ needs and give them access to other protection and investment products which they can readily purchase once they go home to the Philippines.

Prior to this partnership, Pru Life UK has been helping OFWs who are waiting for their deployment and their families in the Philippines through various campaigns, mainly on discussions about their life after working overseas, savings, and the importance of having protection plans. Pru Life UK also has a group of insurance agents called the OFW PRUTectors Club which leads these financial literacy and wealth-building sessions.

“We will continue to expand our network in different countries that will help OFWs ease their worries of having protection not only for themselves but for their families’ future too,” Mr. Wong adds.
