The gourmet gummy sweet brand, which is also stocked in Holland & Barrett, W H Smiths, Daylesford Farm, and The Vegan Kind Supermarket, as well as Tastymates.co.uk have seen incredible growth since its launch in 2021.
Tasty Mates, founded by friends Joe and Nick, who sought to portray their mates through unique sweet flavors, pride their gummy sweets on being 100% vegan and made from only natural colors and flavorings. Demand for vegan confectionery in the UK is currently soaring. As the plant-based food industry booms, millennials and Gen Z’s are key drivers in this market growth.
Sustainability is a central part of Tasty Mates brand ethos, they care a lot about their other mate: the planet, ensuring their sweets have as small an impact on the environment as possible. Tasty Mates packets are 100% recyclable, using polyethylene which can be widely recycled in the UK and Europe. This is something they are proud of, but they know they can do better. The aim is to become 100% biodegradable as the business grows, and for Tasty Mates packets to disappear after use, having precisely zero impact on the environment. This ethos is shared with their new partners Ocado, who are big players in this sector with a commitment to being the UK’s most sustainable grocer.
