SINGAPORE — Viddsee is collaborating with the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) in an #SGTogether initiative to give away 1,500 cups of beverages from Huggs for a period of 5 weeks (1 Nov – 7 Dec 2021), with the final week falling on SG Cares Giving Week (1 – 7 Dec). The campaign hopes to encourage Singapore residents to show care and support to frontline workers who may be facing struggles, and to let these recipients know that there is someone that recognises their efforts during this difficult time.

Titled: “Viddsee #SendHuggs”, the campaign encourages Singaporeans to send a hug via a cup of Huggs beverage. During this period, all residents in Singapore can nominate a frontliner for a complimentary cup of beverage from Huggs, simply by posting a photo or video with an encouraging caption on Instagram (post or stories) and, tagging the nominee, Viddsee (@viddsee) and Huggs (@huggs.sg) with the hashtags #SendHuggs and #SGTogether. Nominees will receive details on how to redeem their cup of coffee from Huggs via Instagram direct message.

“Singapore Together” was launched in 2019 to open up partnership opportunities for Singaporeans to participate in, and provide support for more citizen-led initiatives. Aligning with Viddsee’s own Viddsee For Good movement, which aims to raise awareness about social issues and empowering youths, Viddsee and MCCY kickstarted the #SGTogether campaign by recognising frontliners through the promotion of films in Viddsee’s storyteller library, as well as, the development of two new docuseries extensions by Viddsee Studios entitled: “In Your Shoes: Going Beyond”, hosted by Divian Nair, highlighting foreign frontliner jobs; and, “TLDR: Recognise”, which features three youths raising awareness for mental wellness. Both series were launched in September and are available on Viddsee.com. The “Viddsee #SendHuggs” campaign is further supported by Huggs Coffee’s own promotional efforts through their ambassadors, social media platforms and in-store collateral.

“As a storytelling platform that connects millions through short films, we see Viddsee as a canvas for good for our stakeholders – storytellers, organisations, and audiences, being able empower people into action through stories that move emotions, shape thoughts and inspire people, ” said Derek Tan, co-founder of Viddsee. “The Viddsee #SendHuggs campaign is one such Viddsee For Good approach that brings together our stakeholders and strengthens our message of appreciation and recognition for frontliners and youths in our two newly launched series for #SGTogether.”

Other past projects from Viddsee For Good’s outreach include #StoriesTogether, a regional initiative bringing together Viddsee’s community of storytellers, audiences and partners to bring hope through films during the COVID-19 pandemic. The #StoriesTogether campaign included a fundraising effort for the Community Chest Singapore. More recently, Viddsee worked together with WWF Singapore for Earth Hour to create a 3-episode docuseries, “My Kosong Plan”, that highlights environmental issues in Singapore and features Singaporeans playing their part to help the country reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Viddsee has also worked with partners such as Deloitte, Enable Asia, NVPC, TikTok, and Zero Waste SG, to raise awareness on female empowerment, sustainability, social issues, and youth mental wellness.
