Due Process, an exhibition of photographs by Gang Badoy Capati of graffiti inside Philippine prisons will be on view from October 12 to November 12 to mark Prison Awareness Month at the BenCab Museum, Kilometer 6, Asin Road, Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet, 15 minutes from Baguio City. An intro forum on Philippine Prison Volunteerism with the artist will be held on Saturday November 5 at 2pm.
Also exhibiting at the BenCab Museum are Disneytopia, paintings by Guerrero Habulan at Gallery Indigo and Old Master Prints, 16th to 18th century etchings and engravings by Rembrandt, Goya, and others at Print Gallery. The opening of both exhibits id from 4 to 6:30pm, Saturday, October 15, 2016.
Therese “Gang” Badoy Capati, The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service awardee, is a public activist, radio and television host, feature writer, businesswoman, and educator from the Philippines, best known for founding RockEd Philippines, an advocacy and alternative education group that continues to showcase social issues through music events featuring voluntary performing artists and rock bands, and its radio talk show, RockEd Radio.
Established by world-renowned National Artist of the Philippines for Visual Arts Benedicto “BenCab” Reyes Cabrera, the BenCab Museum also houses a permanent collection that includes indigenous cordilleran arts and artifacts, BenCab paintings, and his collection of acclaimed works by fellow masters. The museum enjoys a panoramic view of the mountain valley and its rice terraces. The museum has its own terraced garden and cafe.
The museum is open from Tuesdays to Sundays, 9am to 6pm. Admission is Php 100 for the general public and Php 80 for students and senior citizens with valid ID. Special rates apply for student groups with prior arrangement.
