It’s literally a move up for Ogilvy, whose Picadilly Star office is ten floors higher than its 10-year-old Philamlife Tower space, fondly called the "red office" because of the color of its reception area. Although red remains a dominant color, the main feature of the new office is its spacious veranda designed with meetings and parties in mind.

The design brief of Joey Yupangco + Associates for the new Ogilvy office has its young tech-savvy staff in mind in its use of fractals: “The creation of an atmosphere of fractals induces us to initiate a neutral, designless environment, but, nurtured as a system, the office will be able to continually transform itself, as a chameleon, often characterizing the users while in its mutating modes, they remain ever relevant. We look to make the furniture adaptive to multi-tasking use, while in another sense, it is also spatial thus, the environment acts as furniture, while furniture become environmental. Why fractals? Fractals belong to a high form of mathematics, that equally approximate biological genetics, thus the aspect of humanism is likened, remaining neutral and adaptive to imaginative interface. Above all it acts like a sponge, able to acquire its own transformative culture that is reflective of Ogilvy.  In this environment, the place remains neutral but dynamic while hosting the more creative aspect of Ogilvy, which are its GEN Y.”

Ogilvy’s move is the latest in the migration of shops to the Global City area from the Makati City’s Central Business District, the traditional center of commerce and advertising.
