Ogilvy PR China announces 7 senior promotions

ASIA-PACIFIC – CHINA, MARCH 25, 2013 – Ogilvy Public Relations has announced seven senior level promotions across both Beijing and Shanghai offices to fuel the firm’s development in China.

The newly promoted management team is composed of veteran Ogilvy PR leaders, recognized for their proven and long-standing track records in the local market.

Ella Chan, chief operating officer for Shanghai, and managing director of Brand Marketing Practice

Chan’s new role as managing director of Ogilvy PR China’s Brand Marketing Practice will see her further her expertise in experiential events to serve more clients. In addition, Chan will tap into her more than two decades of experience in the marketing communications industry to streamline the firm’s internal affairs as Ogilvy PR, Shanghai’s chief operating officer.

Ching Ping (CP) Yang, chief operating officer for Beijing

Having been with Ogilvy PR for the past 20 years, Yang will continue to lead strategic thinking for clients in addition to overseeing all operational processes in Beijing. She will drive the effort to improve Ogilvy PR’s overall knowledge management and professional product offering communications. Through her leadership in internal trainings out of Beijing, Yang will continue to assist in developing and growing O&M Group’s talent pool.

Colleen Cheng, co-managing director for Beijing, and managing director of Corporate Marketing Practice

In her new managing director role of the practice, she will continue to develop the discipline’s expertise in B-to-C communications from a corporate perspective across various industries. Cheng is also charged with co-leading Ogilvy PR, Beijing’s external operations, particularly in external partnerships, advisors and acquisitions in her new appointment as the discipline’s co-managing director in Beijing.

Selina Teng, co-managing director for Beijing, and managing director of Technology Practice

Teng will focus on internal operations, especially related to staff measures and policies. As a 14-year veteran at Ogilvy PR, Technology Practice has thrived under her leadership and Teng will continue to elevate the practice to new heights as its managing director.

Stephen Turner, managing director of Ogilvy PR Corporate/B-to-B Practice, and brand team leader for Caterpillar

Having served Ogilvy PR for more than 17 years, Turner has grown the Corporate and B-to-B Practice incrementally in the last few years by developing and sustaining a solid team and relationships with clients. His new role as the brand team leader for O&M Group, China entails a deeper development in integrated brand marketing expertise for the 360 Degree Beijing client, Caterpillar.

Michael Chu, chief strategy officer

Chu will take the helm in leading the overall strategy for clients nationally. In addition to rich experience in both online and offline crisis management, Chu will develop the upstream service offering, including evaluating Ogilvy PR’s external partnership relationships.

Zhu Hao, executive creative director

Zhu is tasked to oversee all the creative campaigns from Ogilvy PR China. Starting as a creative director seven years ago, Zhu has been a creative pillar for the entire discipline with his ability to inspire and provide sharp leadership on creative projects.

All seven members are part of Ogilvy PR China’s Executive Committee and the promotions will take effect immediately.
