Passes for the first Manila Biennale set in Intramuros from February 2 to March 5 are now available. There will be three passes available: the Art Passport, the Day Pass, and the Student Pass.
The first Manila Biennale will be set inside the walled city of Intramuros from February 3 until March 5, 2018. For an entire month, its many gardens, plazas, chambers, and museums will transform into public platforms for art, performance and expression.
Experience Intramuros’ street life, art, and culture. Visit one of the #mnlbnl2018 curated exhibitions, watch a play inside a centuries old chamber, join an art workshop, sign up for a lecture, catch an outdoor movie, or join one of the many parties and concerts happening throughout the month of February.
The theme of the first Manila Biennale will be: “OPENCITY”, a term that refers to Manila’s role in the Galleon Trade, a time when the Philippines welcomed new people, products, and ideas. “OPENCITY” also references World War II and the tragic events that led to Intramuros’ destruction in 1945.
The Manila Biennale:OPENCITY hopes to revive Intramuros and transform it into a vibrant arts and cultural center.
