Singapore – MiQ, a marketing intelligence company, today announces the appointment of Marcus D’Souza to lead the Southeast Asia business as Managing Director, where he will be responsible for leading the company’s future growth into new and existing markets.

The appointment follows significant growth for MiQ, since launching its Asia operations in July 2017. In his new role, D’Souza will be responsible for leading MiQ’s expansion into new Asian markets, in addition to building MiQ’s commercial teams and developing tailored products and solutions for agencies and brands. He will be reporting to Lee Puri, MiQ’s Co-Founder with the role effective immediately.

D’Souza relocates to Singapore from London where he has been leading commercial operations for MiQ in EMEA since joining in 2013. He brings nearly 20 years of industry experience, 15 of which have been spent leading commercial operations across the publishing and advertising sectors. Prior to joining MiQ, D’Souza led the commercial efforts for the digital properties of Associated Newspapers Group, including Mail Online Metro, Evening Standard and The Independent, and also played a key leadership role in growing the commercial business for A&NY Media, one of the UK’s largest ad networks.

D’Souza commented on the unique opportunities and challenges that Southeast Asia presents:

“This region offers enormous potential for MiQ, as we see more and more marketers in the region looking to infuse data-fueled insights into their marketing strategy, to build a clearer picture around ROI and media spend. We’ve had enormous success with our products and technology in EMEA but I truly believe Southeast Asia is at a tipping point, for brands and agencies beginning to understand MiQ’s unique offering of media fused with analytics and technology,” he said.

I’m excited to work with the amazing team in Southeast Asia, putting the people, technology and partnerships in place to support our next chapter of growth. Most crucially though, I’m looking forward to spending time with our Southeast Asian customers to understand how we can further enable them to thrive,” he continued.

Lee Puri, Co-Founder of MiQ commented on D’Souzas proven track record in growing media businesses in EMEA:

“As marketers, we’ve never had so much access to data and insights before, and nowhere is this more complex and fragmented than in Southeast Asia. The last 12 months has been spent working hard to develop our products and solutions to help our clients and agency partners in the region to make sense out of this complexity.”

“Since joining MiQ in 2013, Marcus has been instrumental in helping us accelerate the business in Europe. I’ll be sad to see him leave our UK operations but look forward to continue working with Marcus to expand MiQ’s footprint across Southeast Asia,” he continued.
