MANILA – Facebook Philippines hosted “Mobile Moves People,” an industry event that brought together businesses, industry experts and marketers to help them engage with today’s mobile-first consumers. Attendees gained insights on tapping into the power of mobile in the Philippines and industry best practices from esteemed panelists.

Speakers from brand and agency partners included Virginia Brocka, Head of Digital Channels for Globe Telecom, Jayel Ladioray, Creative Services Head for Nestle Philippines, Christina Lao, Marketing Director for McDonald’s Philippines, Dennis Perez, Head of Media at Unilever Philippines, and Sudesh Puthran, Managing Director for Mindshare Philippines.

Head of Media at Unilever Philippines and keynote speaker Dennis Perez said: “Mobile has become the new battle ground for today’s brands. Smartphones present unique and personalized opportunities to interact with consumers. With over 51 million Filipinos on Facebook and 92% of them on mobile connecting to people and things that matter to them, brands have the perfect canvas to curate relevant and meaningful experiences that foster loyalty and drive real business results.”

Facebook also led a PockeTV workshop, offering participants hands on knowledge on creating campaigns that optimize TVC assets for Facebook and Instagram.

During the event Mindshare Philippines also announced its partnership with Facebook to launch PockeTV across its stable of clients, aiming to make over 100 TVCs mobile-ready. “Mindshare has been at the forefront of the mobile transformation in the industry, and we work very closely with Facebook – the leading mobile advertising platform in the Philippines – to deliver better value to our clients. We are delighted to launch the PockeTV program, which we hope will spur an industry-wide change to how content is designed for a mobile-first world,” said Sudesh Puthran, Managing Director of Mindshare.

In the Philippines more than 51 million people turn to Facebook for information, inspiration and comedic entertainment. Wherever people happen to be, whatever they happen to be doing, mobile is where they turn to. That’s why a focus on work that stops thumbs and moves hearts really matters. Great work delivered on mobile has power to move people to pause, care, and act. And if mobile moves people, it’ll move business.

Digs Dimagiba, Head of Facebook Philippines, added: “Filipinos are among the world’s most engaged online populations. On Facebook more than 32 million Filipinos are connected to a business Page. Facebook is where people build relationships with brands, discover new products, and make buying decisions. Despite this only 12 percent of total advertising budgets locally have been dedicated to digital and mobile. With Mobile Moves People we are committed to helping businesses innovate, grow their businesses, and ultimately, move our industry forward.”
