MANILA – Now that almost everybody and everything is online, what’s next for Philippine marketers? Is it time to take Philippine digital marketing a step further? For the people of SEO Organization Philippines, diving deeper into the digital landscape isn’t an option—it’s a must.

Last July 15, SEO Organization Philippines, in partnership with TrueLogic Online Solutions, Inc., held the second installment of SEO Shots, a free six-series seminar that gives digital marketing professionals a look at the science of SEO to help them achieve digital success. This month’s panel featured expert insights from Sheila dela Pena on web analytics, Sam Nam on content marketing, and Sean Si on integrating SEO.

Held in the posh shared workspace of Warehouse Eight in La Fuerza Plaza, Don Chino Roces, Makati, the event was a convergence of experienced and aspiring digital marketers alike. Cocktails were provided by Grub Street while attendees conversed and made themselves comfortable.

Knowledge Sharing All the Way

For the veterans of the industry, hearing the terms ‘SEO’ and ‘website analytics’ has become a part of their everyday routine. But, it’s new information for some—especially business owners.

SEO Shots served as a venue to engage digital marketers in knowledge-sharing sessions and extend these insights to businesses. President of SEO Organization Philippines and TrueLogic General Manager Bernard San Juan III uses this opportunity to push their advocacy of ‘digitizing the Philippines’.

“SEO has been around for what? Since the 1990s. But, a lot of people have yet to get their feet wet in this department. Of course, there’s PPC, social media marketing, and many other channels that can make up the digital marketing umbrella. Digitizing the Philippines is the campaign that we are pushing more this year, and we want to extend as much knowledge as we can to fellow digital marketers and businesses,” says Mr. San Juan.

Accelerating Digital Marketing in the Philippines

Sam Nam, President and Co-founder at The Graft Group, shares his thoughts on the important steps that digital marketers should take to make this shift happen, “A lot of business owners aren’t aware of the opportunities in the digital space, and also the digital space is not as large as it is in other countries. So I think one way that you can increase that demand is to educate the end consumers.”

Seamless integration and education of different marketing solutions is key in accelerating the digital transformation in the Philippines. “I think they need to adopt the digital medium themselves first to understand their consumers,” Mr. Nam adds.

SEO Hacker’s CEO Sean Si also discussed his insights on the mindset that the Philippine market should take to maximize the digital shift, “The world is now a smaller place because of the internet, and it’s only going to get smaller. Being able to reach the world is the mindset that they [market] should have today. People will realize that somewhere, someday that this is a powerful way of getting my brand or business out there.”
