MAKATI – My|phone and Green Sun held two events last July 25 at the Green Sun building to promote Filipino brands. The first event, Metamorphosis, is a one day Tech pop-up store featuring Filipino brands open from 9am to 12 midnight. The second event, my|bARKo, is an exclusive gathering at 6pm for the launch of five startup apps: my|bARKo, my|pay, my|life, my|story, and Knowledge X-change (K.X.).
Metamorphosis features fashion and lifestyle brands, art installments, a cafe, and a restaurant. All transactions in Metamorphosis were done using an app called PayMaya, where buyers scanned QR codes of the store to pay.

Included in Metamorphosis are FIlipino brands BLK, Primadonna, Cocoline Naturals, Jay’s Way Coffee, Icho, and Styled Pop-up. The section dedicated to Styled Pop-up include Luna Jewels, Ivona Fine Jewelry, Styled ETC, Inspirar, Sheica, VM Vorge and Marco, TGLL, Fashion Hub by Dayan Hernandez, Daily Schedule, and Moxie. Designer fashion clothing and accessories by Joel Escobar, Gabbie Sarenas, Jor-el Espina, Filip + Inna, Jaggy Glarino, Tracy Dizon, Tipay Caintic, Ivarluski Aseron, Jojie Lloren, Michelline Syjuco, Adante Leyesa, Joyce Makitalo, Juan Carlo Evaristo, Ken Samudio, Micki Olaguer, , Zara Juan, Arnel Papa, Jul B. Dizon, and Maco Custodio . Also featured is an art installment by Leeroy New, Liliana Manahan, Stanley Ruiz, Tal de Guzman, Wataru Sakuma, and Manu Respall. The event’s aesthetics was designed by Jinggoy Buensuceso.

My|bARKo is the launch of five “startapps” under My Solid Technologies and Devices Corporation. These were presented to stakeholders, my|phone dealers, telco partners, and VIP guests. Highlights include a presentation of how the five will help not only the company but also every Filipino.

In my|bARKo, a presentation discussed what each startup was created for. All apps will be available in my|phone and Brown phones and will also be released for other android phones by the end of the year. It will be estimated to have a reach of 10 million by 2019.
CJ Hirro also presented MyPhone’s marketing initiatives: one of which is the #BecauseWeCare campaign wherein a MyPhone users can now get a FREE Accident insurance up to P50,000
First is my|story, a lockscreen mobile magazine app that presents inspirational stories about startups. It contains success stories from different young entrepreneurs and can be accessed by swiping left on your lockscreen.
Next is my|life. It is a rewards and privileges app that helps its patrons know about my|phone’s partner brands. Menus, catalogues, coupons, and lifestyle articles are some examples of what to expect here.
my|bARKo is the flagship app and also an online marketplace. It features any Filipino creators that create products or contents, and Filipino talents that offer their services. Here, anyone can sell their own products or services or act as direct resellers of products featured inside and get commissions from selling. The app hopes that Filipino brands will be enabled through support from fellow Filipinos.
my|pay where all earnings from selling from my|bARKo goes, as well as a tool anyone can use to buy. This financial technology can be also used for doing remittances.
K.X. is a virtual space for exchanging information and knowledge for learning. Novices to professionals are welcome to exchange what they know to help each other polish their brands.
My|phone also presented their latest marketing initiatives with the slogan “my|phone: technology redefined”. They’ve changed the looks of their stores and advertisements, integrating them with QR Codes and augmented reality (AR) for a tech-driven experience. They also changed the packaging to become more eco-friendly, and also launched The #BecauseWeCare campaign, wherein every my|phone and Brown customers will receive up to PHP50,000 worth of accident insurance.
