Ogilvy APAC’s Reed Collins and Alvin Chin to lead this year’s The Young Lotus Workshop at Adfest

PATTAYA, THAILAND – ADFEST is pleased to announce that Ogilvy Asia Pacific will host the 2023 Young Lotus Workshop, a two-and-a-half-day workshop for ambitious young creative teams from the Asia Pacific and Middle East. This year it will be run under the theme, “Ogilvy X Borderless Creativity.”

The Young Lotus Workshop is one of the industry’s longest-running mentoring programs designed to give the next generation of advertising leaders hands-on, practical experience. The program is open to advertising professionals aged 30 and under, with teams selected by local representatives in markets across the region.

The first half of the program consists of talks, mentoring and workshops led by this year’s Young Lotus Chairman Reed Collins, who is also the chief creative officer for Ogilvy Asia Pacific, and Ogilvy Asia Pacific Regional Head of Creative Excellence and Services Alvin Chin. Supporting the Young Lotus attendees will be a team of mentors from Ogilvy offices across the region.

Very few Chief Creative Officers have had the opportunity or experience of having worked across five continents. Originally from Australia, Reed has been based in Hong Kong for the last nine years and is responsible for the creative output of all Ogilvy offices in APAC. Under his leadership, Ogilvy has earned Regional Network of the Year titles at both Effies and Cannes Lions the last five years and the first ever Cannes Lions Grand Prix for the nation of Pakistan. He was named Creative Person of the year in 2017 by Campaign Magazine Asia.

Ogilvy will be looking for tenacity and the ability to seize opportunities as well as talent and the ability to develop remarkable solutions in its Young Lotus contingent. In return, they will receive advice and guidance from Ogilvy’s vast network, gaining international insights and understanding from one of the world’s most respected creative networks.

After responding to the brief from Ogilvy Asia Pacific, the top Young Lotus finalist teams will present their work on stage during ADFEST 2023 on March 25, scheduled at 11:50 am to 1:00 pm. The winners of both the Young Lotus and the Popular Vote will be revealed at the ADFEST Lotus Awards that evening.
