NEW YORK —Publicis Health, the world’s largest health-oriented communications group, will take the stage this June at the Cannes Lions Health International Festival of Creativity, now in its third year. Shining a spotlight on life-changing creativity, Publicis Health content sessions—hosted by Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness and Digitas Health LifeBrands—will showcase how the creativity and drive of individuals every day can create powerful change.
Inspiration Stage presentations include:
· Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness presents, “The Power to Change Lives Is in All of Us,” with Ebola survivor, Dr. Kent Brantly, and high school sophomore and 2015 Google Science Fair Grand Prize Winner, Olivia Hallisey.
When: Saturday, 18 June, 11:00–11:30 CET
You don’t have to be a doctor to change the world. Ask Olivia Hallisey, a high school sophomore. Prompted to action by the 2014 Ebola outbreaks and inspired by Dr. Kent Brantly, the Ebola survivor who gave the world hope, she designed a new way to detect Ebola that does not rely on cold storage. For the first time on the Cannes stage, Olivia will join Dr. Brantly to discuss how the power to change lives is in all of us and how through empathy comes lifesaving innovation. Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness Global Chief Creative Officer Kathy Delaney will lead a discussion on the day-to-day business applications of Olivia and Dr. Brantly’s stories.
· Digitas Health LifeBrands presents, “Health, Prepare to Meet Your Makers,” with Gokul Krishnan Ph.D., creator of “Maker Therapy”; Cory Doctorow, novelist, blogger and technology activist; and James Young, biological scientist and avid video gamer whose unique prosthetic arm is as much an extension of his personality as it is his body.
When: Saturday, 18 June, 13:30–14:15 CET
This fascinating look at the Maker Movement offers valuable insight into how new design thinking is transforming the health experience and improving outcomes. Dr. Gokul Krishnan, a learning scientist, mechanical engineer and innovator who has become a voice for children with chronic illnesses and their families, brought the Maker Movement to reality by creating “Maker Therapy.” He shares the stage with Cory Doctorow, a science fiction author, activist, journalist and blogger. Biological scientist and avid gamer James Young provides the patient perspective as a double amputee whose new prosthetic arm has allowed him to take control of his own treatment and healing. The session concludes with a discussion led by Graham Mills, Global Chief Creative Officer of Publicis Health, about what needs to happen for the healthcare industry to benefit from “makers.”
