PARAÑAQUE – Six friends who would bond over travel photography had created an exhibit-worthy body of meaningful works to delight audiences while raising funds for a cause. They are Angela Panlilio, Bern Wong, Jeff Dytuco, Michael Olivares, Ferdie Tiongson and Tony Rivera. Their photographs now comprise the “Seeing Beyond” photo exhibit at The Shoppes Artway of Solaire Resort & Casino in Parañaque City.
The photographs on exhibit each evoke a cathartic experience, inviting the audience to deeply reflect and see beyond the photos and into the inner sanctums of their being. They are a testament to how photographers cross over to become artists that depict realities that compel one to look not only deeper into their surroundings but into their own philosophies.
The works, which are either monochromatic or in muted colors and range from still life to landscape, highlight a variety of journeys that include spiritual or corporeal reflection, pensiveness, struggle, and joy… all leading to a pause that sees beyond.
Educational Research and Development Assistance (ERDA) Tech Chairman Atty. Charlemagne Yu, Metro Pacific Investments Corp.’s Manuel V. Pangilinan, Meralco’s Oscar Reyes, and ERDA Tech’s Fr. Aristotle Dy led the opening of the exhibit that will run until January 25, 2018.
The exhibit-sale is for the benefit of the ERDA Tech Vocational School, a Jesuit institution set up by Fr. Pierre Tritz of the Society of Jesus in 1994, which provides a core technical curriculum supported by strong values and character formation program that is grounded in Ignatian spirituality.
