MANILA – Globe Telecom recently spearheaded a campaign for National Teachers’ Month, celebrating the unwavering passion of all our teachers.

The campaign launched with a film developed by J. Walter Thompson Philippines, produced by Artillerie Media and directed by AF Benaza. It centered on the insight that many teachers still have to work with broken down and near-obsolete teaching tools every day.

The film’s characters were taken from the perspective of the said teaching tools—a dimming overhead projector, a dilapidated manila paper,—and an outdated computer. All of them worn out from years of use. In the film, they narrate their admiration for their teachers, recounting the years they spent together. After feeling the years catching up to them, the three teaching tools bid farewell to their long-time partners, making way for modern teaching aids— digital projectors, tablets, and mobile internet modems,— to provide better help for the teachers.

The film neatly ties together the celebration of teachers and Globe Telecom’s Global Filipino Schools (GFS) Program which provides teachers modern teaching tools to help them foster truly modern education. “With Globe Telecom’s GFS equipment, teaching kids became a lot easier. Other than making my presentations more engaging, students acquired an initiative to read lessons in advance with the mobile internet provision,” shares Ms. Ena Tamayo of Kalayaan National High School.

Miguel Bermundo, Director for Globe Citizenship and Advocacy Marketing adds, “Teaching truly is a noble profession. It is the job of people whose dream is to make others’ dreams come true. And this National Teachers’ Month, we want to turn their dreams into reality by providing them modern technology for teaching.”

With this campaign, Globe celebrates every teacher by helping them pave the future for a new generation.
