MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Kidlat Awards 2025 is celebrating this year’s theme of Creative Edge with new awards and the first ever Young Student Kidlat competition.
“Kidlat has always been about celebrating the creative work. As the industry evolves, the work takes on different forms utilizing new technology, new platforms, or new media. The show, naturally, evolves to reflect this. That’s why we’ve created new categories and subcategories to shine a spotlight on the work that deserves recognition”, said Greg Martin III, one of the Competition Directors of the Creative Guild.
The newest category, Creativity in Social, celebrates creative thinking in social content, with four sub-categories: Social Posts; Social Video; Use of Influencer in Social; and Social Activation.

In the Craft category, the Creative guild has also added Best Use of AI in the Design/Outdoor/Print sub-category; and Best Use of Technology under Audio.
These two new sub-cateegories recognize the creative use of emerging technology in crafting executions.
Meanwhile the category of Creativity in Engagement will see the inclusion of a new sub-category, Best Use of Influencer, to recognize excellence in the creative use of inflluencers and brand ambassadors.
A new generation of young, hungry creatives are also on the rise. Apart from the Young Spikes and Young Lions competitions for advertising professionals under 30, this year will also see the first ever Young Kidlat Student Competition. Actively enrolled college students can now compete and vie for the first-ever Kidlat Gold trophy for students.
“The response from the academe has been nothing short of tremendous,” says Joe Dy, president of the Creative Guild. “The brief, created by Kidlat partner GCash, is designed to both resonate and challenge this new blood into creating some very exciting solutions. We can’t wait to see their entries.”
