Apple remembers Steve

GLOBAL – UNITED STATES, OCTOBER 8, 2012 – Apple pays tribute to Steve Jobs, one year after his passing.
 
Upon entering Apple’s website, be greeted with a two-minute video in commemoration of its late founder. The short video includes black-and-white photographs of Jobs throughout his career in Apple and audio from his biggest product launches.
 
A message from Apple CEO Tim Cook shows at the end of the video, urging everyone to reflect on Jobs’ extraordinary life and “the many ways he made the world a better place”. 
 
Cook attributes Apple’s creativity and high standards to Jobs.
 
“I’m incredibly proud of the work we are doing, delivering products that our customers love and dreaming up new ones that will delight them down the road. It’s a wonderful tribute to Steve’s memory and everything he stood for.”
 
Apple’s website has a page dedicated to ‘Remembering Steve’ (http://www.apple.com/stevejobs/), where personal friends, colleagues and even Apple product owners, share how they’ve been touched by his passion and creativity.
 
 
Steve Jobs co-founded Apple in 1976 with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. He left the company in 1985 after a boardroom decision removed his managerial duties in Macintosh and founded NeXT Computer the following year. He also bought Pixar (then called The Graphics Group) from Lucasfilm before Disney acquired it in 2006. Apple bought NeXT in 1996, securing his return to the company he founded.
 
Jobs was diagnosed with pancreas neuroendocrine tumor in 2003, forcing an almost a year-long medical leave in 2011 before finally resigning in August. He died of respiratory arrest related to his metastatic tumor on October 5, 2011.
