GLOBAL – Nicholas Loup and Tara Bernerd have been appointed to the Board of Directors at Chelsfield Group.
As Chief Executive of Grosvenor Asia Pacific, Nicholas Loup is a hugely dynamic and knowledgeable force in the market. “We are thrilled to welcome Nick to the Board,” said Elliott Bernerd, Founder and Joint Chairman of Chelsfield. “Over the last 20 years, he has established Grosvenor as one of the leading investors and developers in the region. Nick has exceptional global real estate experience and remarkable knowledge of the Asia Pacific territory. This cements Chelsfield’s long-term interest in further developing our relationships in Asia. Nick will continue to be based in Hong Kong.”
Nick Loup established Grosvenor’s operations in Asia Pacific in 1994, making him a clear authority on this fast-paced and economically explosive territory. “At a time when the key cities of Asia are coming to maturity and showing enormous potential for growth, I am excited about the opportunity to extend the activities of the Chelsfield Group globally. Elliott Bernerd, whom it has been my pleasure to know for decades, is a market leader and it will be a privilege to join him and his team in April 2015.”
Furthermore, underlining Chelsfield’s commitment to design and creative value, industry leader Tara Bernerd is to take up the role of Creative Director of Chelsfield Group. Founder of the renowned interior architecture and design practice, Tara Bernerd & Partners, Tara and her highly specialised team work on an international platform with projects in New York, Chicago, Miami, London, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
“The Board of Directors at Chelsfield combine a wealth of experience and exceptional talent, and it is an honour to join their ranks,” says Tara. “This will be a complimentary expansion of my work and I am proud to become an active part of Chelsfield’s dynamic future.”
As Creative Director, Tara will bring her acknowledged expertise in the retail, residential and hotel industries to bear on the growing global portfolio at Chelsfield, advising on projects from masterplan through to the design detail phase. “Tara has established a worldwide reputation for creating exceptional hospitality and development spaces, on time, on budget and with a great sense of style,” said Robert Burrow, Joint Chairman of Chelsfield. “She will help us to enhance our offerings in London, Paris and the Far East, recognising design as an important factor in creating value.”
