THE PHILIPPINES, JANUARY 11, 2012: Newcomer TV5 is throwing more money towards content development, signing American Idol season seven runner-up David Archuleta to his own television series.Archuleta, the station’s latest signing of seasoned entertainers, will star in a primetime show alongside TV5 stars Jasmin Curtis-Smith and Eula Caballero. No details were released on the show’s title or time slot. In the past two years, TV5 had signed on actresses Nora Aunor and Sharon Cuneta, the latter reportedly on a PHP 1bn contract. The network has also signed deals with Ruffa Gutierrez, Maricel Soriano, Lorna Tolentino, Alice Dixon, Aga Muhlach, Edu Manzano, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and “Comedy King” Dolphy.
