Launched at the Cannes Lions: Leo Burnett’s Facebook ad unit, Microsoft Kinect NUads with voice and gesture control

GLOBAL – JUNE 2011 – Agencies and technology companies showed off their latest offerings at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity last week. Among them, Leo Burnett and Microsoft, which launched innovative new ad platforms.

Leo Burnett’s interactive Comment ad allows Facebook users to respond to a status, link, photo or video. The Comment ad is the eighth premium ad type offered on the social networking site. It can later on be picked up as a Sponsored Story. Leo Burnett clients such as Allstate, Hallmark, Samsung and The Ronald McDonald House Charities are already using the ad.

Microsoft’s Kinect has found fans not only among gamers but among educators and now, advertisers. The 3D game  controller is now an interactive advertising platform with voice and gesture control for ads. Sharing on Twitter, using location data and allowing access to more information can now be done via voice and commands with text prompts on Kinect NUads as the user watches commercials on TV.
