MANILA, PHILIPPINES — AirAsia Philippines reminds all its guests to adhere to strict health and safety protocols and get their Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests only from legitimate laboratories and testing centers. Guests are prohibited from forging documents or submitting fake test results.

A Philippine National Police – Aviation Security Group report revealed that from 31 December 2020 to 31 August 2021, a total of 256 passengers across all airports in the country have been arrested after submitting a fake RT-PCR result.

Penalties for individuals submitting a fake testing result include the filing of violation of RA 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act. If found guilty, they can face penalties of up to P50,000 or imprisonment for up to six months.

We at AirAsia Philippines are committed to implementing the highest standards of health and safety protocols so that guests fly with peace of mind.”

This illegal practice undermines the safety of travelers especially with the presence of other highly transmissible variants of COVID-19.

“AirAsia has partnered with various diagnostic laboratories to ensure that trusted institutions and affordable COVID-19 tests remain accessible to all our guests,” Dailisan added.

AirAsia guests may choose from eight partner laboratories in Metro Manila – Philippine Airport Diagnostic Laboratory, Health Metrics, Safeguard DNA Diagnostics, Hi-Precision Diagnostics, Hero Laboratories, Manila Doctors Hospital, Cardinal Santos Medical Center and The Lord’s Grace offered a price cut on its services with a discount of up to P1,000 on RT-PCR bringing down the rates from as low as PhP 2,500 and Antigen tests at PhP 775 exclusive to AirAsia passengers until 31 December 2021.

Meanwhile, AirAsia Philippines is also giving Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR), returning OFWs and other essential travelers the convenience of flying with a discounted “My Bookings” promo and “Pack more, save more” for those flying to Cagayan de Oro.

Passengers who booked their flights via airasia through the My Bookings option will also get a Php50 discount on all flights until 31 October 2021. The My Bookings option allows passengers to modify their booking, 24 hours after confirmation.

Aside from this, passengers flying to and from Cagayan de Oro will also get to enjoy a Php100 discount on 30 and 40 kg baggage until 30 November 2021.
