The 4As Creative Guild of the Philippines has disqualified its Philippines’ Young Spikes winning team following a controversy over the entry submitted by said team.
In a statement, the organization said, “after a review of the winning work in the Young Spikes Philippine competition, the 4As and Creative Guild have disqualified the entry “Prove You’re Human.” As a response to this, Ogilvy withdrew said entry.”
The runner-up team of Aspac-DAN’s Eboy Jose and Reigno Dilao will now represent the country in the upcoming Young Spikes competition in Singapore.
The Young Spikes competitions fall under the Young Talent Awards of the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity, with categories in integrated, media, digital, and PR. For two days, teams of two must create a campaign in response to a brief set by a charity or non-profit organization. Teams are chosen through a pre-selection process in their own countries. Competitors must be aged 30 years or under and employed with agencies. Winners will be awarded Gold medals at the Spikes Asia Awards Ceremony and receive full delegate passes for next year’s festival.
