With the theme, Inspiring Humanity Through Design, design works with a purpose took center stage.

“Trying to give the work that we do a purpose that’s a little bit bigger and doing anything to make people’s lives a little bit better I think is a great step forward,” shared Duckworth.

“All of this art, if it pushes goodness, somehow it will inspire goodness among ourselves in this world. And that for me is the whole purpose why we’re here and why we’re creative,” commented Jayme.

This year’s entries from both professionals and students showcased the cultural diversity not just in the Philippines but in Asia.

“There was a lot of teasing out of different cultural differences between what I would understand as a Westerner,” said Duckworth. “I love the diversity, it’s very good,” added Alejandro.
