James Mok takes on Draftfcb’s APAC creative responsibilities

ASIA-PACIFIC – AUSTRALIA, SEPTEMBER 24, 2012 – It has been announced that Draftfcb’s group executive creative director for Australia and New Zealand, James Mok, will now also be taking under his belt creative responsibilities for Asia Pacific

Mok is the second senior executive with regional responsibilities established at Draftfcb in APAC in recent months after Jonathan Allard, Draftfcb’s Chief Operating Officer, appointed Connie Wong as regional human resources in June. Allard stated, “James Mok is a world-class creative leader and we are happy that the whole region will now benefit from his experience.”  Allard goes on to mention how this regional role has been designed specifically for Mok in order for him to help elevate Draftfcb’s creative product throughout APAC alongside his current role of leading the creatives of the Australia and New Zealand agencies.

Mok has always been a highly valued member of Draftfcb, maintaining the position of New Zealand’s most senior creative executive since joining the agency in 2005.  The agency’s accolades under his creative leadership include winning New Zealand’s “Agency of the Year” twice as well as being ranked the world’s number one for effectiveness in the WAC World EFFIE Index in the Government and Non-Profit category for the past two years.  Moreover, during this time the agency has expanded to become one of New Zealand’s top three full-service agencies and has been awarded at Cannes, One Show, Clios, Spikes, Andy’s, AWARD, and Caples.

Mok’s new role will be fully supported in New Zealand with the newly appointed ECDs Tony Clewett and Regan Grafton being added to its creative leadership team and Creative Director, Simon Edwards, serving as a new addition to the Sydney team.

“This is a great opportunity to help grow our network’s creative footprint in APAC,” said Mok. “I already know the key creative leaders in the region and thee is considerable talent in the agencies that I hope to support in any of their creative challenges.”
