ASIA-PACIFIC – Bringing innovative educational television to Hong Kong’s toddlers and their parents, FOX International Channels has teamed up with Asia Television Limited (aTV) to launch Baby TV programming. The free-to-air broadcaster presents a mix of shows from the world-leading Baby TV channel in a half-hour block from 9:30 am every weekday on aTV World channel.

Produced under the supervision of child development experts and endorsed by the Hong Kong Education Bureau, FOX International Channel’s Baby TV is the first 24-hour commercial-free channel for infants, toddlers and their parents. The world’s most widely distributed and innovative channel for young families is currently available in Hong Kong exclusively on now TV (Channel 448) promoting high-quality age-appropriate programming that is positive, interactive and fun. Its original content covers the entire spectrum of early learning skill and development milestones.

Baby TV conducted a survey of Hong Kong parents late last year, finding that while more than 90% use screen media to educate and entertain their children aged four and under, most are unaware of what constitutes an age-appropriate program. In response, Baby TV and the Hong Kong Education Bureau have produced a guidebook to help Hong Kong parents make better media choices for their children. It advises caregivers to select programmes designed for young children, limit their child’s viewing time, and actively watch with them to extend the viewing experience. Now in its second print run, the bilingual Watch TV with Your Toddlers booklet is available via kindergartens across Hong Kong.

Baby TV is the world’s most widely distributed channel for toddlers aged 0-3 and their parents, reaching more than 300 million homes across Asia, Europe, North America, Latin America and Africa. Baby TV’s content is produced under the guidance of child specialists and is commercial-free. For more information, please visit www.babytv.com.
