The campaign itself is directed by Marius Talampas, and stars Pepe Herrera as the titular character–a vampire who simply wants to pay his bills, but is unable to due to the nine-to-five working hours by which most bill payment centers operate. This of course is an allusion to the common problem working Filipinos face as workers of nine-to-five jobs, unable to catch up with the hours to pay their dues.
Bestads’ guest judges for the week, incoming directors at TWBA Dublin Clayton Homer and Dillon Elliott, shared their compliments to the campaign, stating “This made us laugh. There’s something lovely about the camply hysterical backstory jammed up against the daily grind of bills. Love that they just keep going, and don’t let their mask slip.”
In a previous article Talampas shared, “Through this dramatization of the vampire’s frustration, we wanted to speak for every Filipino who just really wanted to pay off their bills but missed the bills payment center hours by a few minutes, probably because of their work and their situation in life. But that should be their last time feeling that ever again, especially because now, they can pay through any 7-Eleven using the CLiQQ app.”
