GLOBAL, OCTOBER 8, 2010 – Everyone’s out for viral—advertising, that is. YouTube approached The Art Directors Club and came up with the YouTube Show and Tell channel, curating the best creative campaigns on YouTube and showing how to maximize YouTube’s features for information sharing and advertising.

"The Story of Youtube Car" illustrates a typical campaign, in which a product—in this case, Car—has appeared on TV, radio, print, and websites but has no interaction with potential consumers. "Car’s been in a lot of one-sided conversations" the voice-over narrates, "It’s lonely out there. Car needs help with its campaign!" The video series goes on to tell Car’s story while highlighting YouTube features such as HD, "speech bubble" annotations, hotlinks to the next or related videos, and closed captioning.

The Show and Tell channel is also home to videos that effectively use these features, from webisodes to product demonstrations, and of course, viral hits such as Old Spice “The Man Your Man Can Smell Like” and "Where the Hell is Matt?". As part of The Art Director’s Club’s aim to educate, these viral hits have creatives providing commentary.

Other features of the channel include a Creatives’ Corner, where experts from various agencies discuss brands and the creative process, and Brand Channels showing—what else?—branded YouTube channels.
