PHILIPPINES, JANUARY 11, 2011 – Solid Group Incorporated (SGI) reported P2 billion in My|Phone sales for 2010, a 900% increase in sales in the fourth quarter year-on-year. Because of continued growth , SGI Chairman David Lim aims to sell two million handset units this year.
My|Phone is the very first Filipino mobile brand introduced in the Philippines by the SGI in 2007. The handset models of My|Phone offers dual SIM mobility, Wi-Fi, Qwerty and touch screen technologies at affordable prices ranging from P1,999 to P5, 999.
My|Phone successfully penetrated the market through its Ninoy-Cory Phones which were coincided with the resurgence of nationalism, and QWERTY phones, including the My|Phone S phone (QV27 Duo) endorse by popular TV host-actress Anne Curtis.
While other international brands are pushing expensive high-end units, My|Phone decided instead to develop products to satisfy the wants of the majority and to offer them at prices within their reach. Currently, My|Phone offers handset models with the same features as the popular Nokia E series phones and Samsung touch screen phones but at more affordable prices. These units include a touch screen phone (T52 Duo), TV phones (TV81 Duo, TV22 Duo, TV77 Duo, QTV22 Duo, TV21 Duo), Qwerty phones (Q19 Duo, Q20 Duo, QT22 Duo, QT23 Duo, QS25 Duo), and their latest Wi-Fi phone (QW28 Duo).
My|Phone is planning to expand distribution through kiosks and to add more after-sales service centers. This year, SGI will also introduce an Android technologically infused tablet similar to iPad called the MyPad to be sold at between P7,000 to P8,000 per unit.
