ASIA-PACIFIC – OCTOBER 26, 2010 – Grey Group has made two executive creative director appointments for China and Indonesia, reiterating the strong focus of Nirvik Singh, Chairman & CEO, Grey Group Asia Pacific, to raise the creative mettle of the network.

Attlee Ku Chi Wai has been appointed ECD of Grey Group Shanghai, effective immediately. He brings to Grey Group 20 years of creative experience. Prior to joining Grey Group, Ku was ECD at Leo Burnett Shanghai, and the brand creative director of the leading sports brand Li-Ning Sports in China.
His career started in Hong Kong and he entered the China market in 2000 via Leo Burnett, China. His experience spans across different regions in China, including Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing. Ku has vast experience in managing blue-chip brands across different sectors, namely McDonald’s, Coca Cola, Wrigley’s, Samsung, China Mobile, Wyeth’s, China Construction Bank, Shanghai General Motors, Li-Ning Sports and Procter & Gamble.

Randy Rinaldi has been named as executive creative director, reporting to Agus Sudradjat, president director, Grey Group Indonesia. Rinaldi was previously ECD at Publicis, and was creative director at JWT and Leo Burnett, all based in Indonesia.
Sudradjat says, “Randy’s appointment reinforces our commitment to deliver Famously Effective communications for our clients. He comes with tremendous experience across categories covering local, regional and global markets, having worked with clients Procter & Gamble, Nestle, HSBC, LG, Samsung, Telkomsel, Mitsubishi Motors and Gudang Garam, just to name a few.”
He will work in close partnership with Ali Shabaz, chief creative officer, Grey Group Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, overseeing creative duties across the agency’s large roster of clients which includes leading companies like Procter & Gamble, GlaxoSmithKline, AXA, Pfizer, Telkom, Mayora and Orang Tua Group.
Shabaz says, “With 14 years of solid industry experience, Randy’s skills and maturity will provide added value to the agency’s creative product. His arrival will make a significant difference to the office’s creative goals and will help raise the bar on the work for our clients.”
Rinaldi has contributed to path-breaking campaigns such as the public service campaign entitled ‘Mud Flow’ which won a Gold Spike at Spikes Asia 2010 and which is currently shortlisted for London International Awards 2010. He has also won a host of local, regional and international awards, including the Citra Pariwara, Cakram Awards, Adfest, Cannes Lions, and New York Festivals.
Under Singh’s leadership, Grey Group Asia-Pacific has already made a number of strategic appointments, resulting in top creative minds joining the agency across Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and India.
