THE PHILIPPINES, AUGUST 2011 – The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines invites all to a special international master class “The Next Global Wave of Social Media: Emerging communication trends for profitable business strategies, company operations and public policy.”
The special master class will be held on August 15, 2011, from 8 am to 5 pm at the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Commerce and Industry Plaza, McKinley Town Center, McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
This is the Philippine leg of the IABC 2011 Asia Pacific Seminar Series in partnership with San Francisco-based IABC, Sun Life Financial Philippines and PCCI.
The Philippine leg will discuss matters of interest and value to communicators and to those whose businesses and functions require them to know these trends and techniques for strategies and daily operations.
The sessions welcome communication heads/leaders/strategists, organizational and corporate communicators, public relations practitioners, communication consultants and practitioners, students, communication educators, communication research professionals, and government communication officers, planners and chiefs of staff.
The master class will be conducted by IABC Fellow Shel Holtz, ABC, highly-rated international speaker, author, social media practitioner and global communication consultant and principal of Holtz Communication + Technology.
Presenting the Philippine Digital Landscape will be Donald Patrick Lim, Managing Director of MRM Worldwide, the digital and relationship marketing arm of McCann Worldgroup. He was founding president of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines.
The talk will include media relations, social media releases, management buy-in and resourcing, the new communication office and trends such as content curation, community management, video, monitoring and measuring, augmented reality, QR codes and location-based services
Holtz has close to 35 years of experience in organizational communications in both corporate and consulting environments. He is advisor to global companies on strategic development of online communication in addition to integrating technology into communications strategies, strategic communications planning, change management, organizational culture, business initiatives and communications research.
Holtz has authored and co-authored six communication-focused books, has been blogging since 2004, and co-hosts the first and longest-running communications-focused podcast, "For Immediate Release." He is a founding fellow of the Society for New Communication Research and a member of the advisory board of The Mayo Clinic Center for Social Media.
