JWT returns as Young Spikes integrated competition sponsor

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, AUGUST 9, 2011—For the second year in a row, JWT has been named sponsor of Spikes Asia’s Young Spikes Integrated Competition, aimed at providing the region’s next generation of creatives the opportunity to showcase their talent and gain recognition as rising stars in the industry.
 
The competition will see Asia’s hottest young creatives competing in teams of two on a brief put forth by a charity or non-profit organization on the first day of the festival. The teams have just 48 hours to create an integrated campaign that uses at least three appropriate media channels.
 
Each team will then present their campaign in front of a panel of elite industry creative judges. For the first time this year, Spikes will be opening up the presentations for all festival delegates to watch. The competition culminates with the winning team being presented with a Gold medal at the Spikes Asia Awards Ceremony on the final night.
 
“For JWT, it was a clear decision to sponsor the Young Spikes Integrated Competition for a second year as it falls very much in line with our commitment to nurturing and investing in next-generation talent,” said Michael Maedel, JWT Asia Pacific President.

This year, Spikes Asia celebrates 25 years of honoring creative excellence in advertising communications across Asia Pacific. The festival will be held at Suntec Convention Center in Singapore on September 18-20, bringing together some of the finest creative thinkers from across the region and around the world, providing the region’s growing creative and advertising industry with a platform to network and exchange ideas.
