ASIA-PACIFIC – AUGUST 2011 – The Excelsior Hotel Hong Kong has selected M&C Saatchi as the ad agency for the upcoming relaunch of its Cantonese restaurant, Yee Tung Heen, following a multi-agency pitch.
The restaurant, an institution in the local dining scene, will be closed for a complete revamp and re-open in early September. Once re-opened, it will raise the bar even higher on Cantonese fine dining in Hong Kong.
Wendy Lee, Director of Communications at The Excelsior, said, "The work presented by M&C Saatchi was clearly the strongest. From strategy to concept to execution, the winning idea was a fine example of simple, out-of-the-box thinking with plenty of stopping power.”
The brief was not without its challenges, according to Bernard Chan, Senior Creative Director at M&C Saatchi. “We needed to give the campaign a wow factor while keeping it all in good taste, no pun intended. In the end, fresh, gutsy ideas won the day.”
