ASIA-PACIFIC – KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, AUGUST 11, 2011 – McCann Erickson, one of Malaysia’s biggest advertising agencies, won four Dragons in the eleventh Promotion Marketing Awards of Asia (PMAA), leading the tally for the country.
McCann won the Best in Malaysia Dragon for the ‘Receipt Story” campaign where Book Xcess customers were encouraged to submit short stories with the winning stories printed on the backs of cash register receipts.
The agency also won Best B2B campaign Dragon (Silver) for the New Straits Times ‘Different Perspectives’ campaign, Best Use of the Internet in a Promotion Marketing Campaign Dragon (Bronze) for Nestlé Coffeemate ‘Love Notes’, and Best Activity Generating Short or Long Term Brand Loyalty Dragon (Gold) for ‘Receipt Stories’ for Book Xcess.
“This year’s work was aimed at providing growth and return-on-investment for our clients,” said Szu Lee, Deputy Chairman and Executive Creative Director, McCann Worldgroup. “It’s also great to be recognized for our creative work.”
The 51 Gold, Silver, and Bronze Dragon Campaigns representing 11 Asian countries are now being adjudicated by the MAA GLOBES International Judging Panel, against the Best of the Best in Promotion Marketing from Award Programmes run in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. Winners will be announced globally and at the MAA GLOBES Award Ceremony during the Fall Conference of MAA Worldwide at the Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on October 20 this year.
