Peter Rentschler to lead Ford business in Asia and Africa; Doug Molloy returns to U.S. to take on new role at Team Detroit

  

SINGAPORE, JULY 12, 2010—Michael Maedel, JWT President and George Rogers, WPP, Ford Motor Company Global Client Leader, today announced the appointment of Peter Rentschler as President, Asia Pacific and Africa, Global Team Ford.  In this new role, Peter will be based in Shanghai and will jointly report to Michael Maedel and George Rogers to oversee regional duties for the Ford client. His start date is August 1, 2010.
  
After 19 years working in the International Automotive group, handling the Ford and Mazda business in Asia Pacific and Africa, Doug Molloy, IVP, International Account Director on Ford, will return to Detroit, Michigan to take on the role of EVP, Director of Communications for Retail First—the Team Detroit dedicated retail marketing group partnering with Ford, Lincoln & Mercury Dealer Groups in the USA. 
  
Peter has 27 years of experience in the automotive advertising business with the past 15 spent working for WPP agencies Y&R, JWT and Team Detroit on multiple Ford Motor Company assignments. Most recently, Peter was EVP, Global Team Ford Business Director helping lead WPP’s Global Team Ford development and global business alignment in support of the client’s global marketing goals. 
      
Doug has been with JWT for the past 34 years; 27 of which have been with the Ford Motor Company.  He has worked on numerous award-winning new product launches in various countries, and most recently helped establish the integrated WPP team, Global Team Ford, co-located in Shanghai—partnering with Ford in Asia Pacific and Africa. 
  
“Doug and Peter are both industry veterans and know the Ford business inside and out,” says Rogers. “Positioning them in these strong regions will ensure the continuation of Ford’s and JWT’s strength in both the U.S. and internationally.”
