ASIA-PACIFIC – AUGUST 16, 2011 – The Philippines enjoys a strong performance so far in the shortlist of this year’s AD STARS International Advertising Festival. AD STARS will be held at the Haeundae Grand Hotel in Busan, South Korea on August 25 to 27, 2011.
Although the Philippines is the seventh top sending country with 259 total entries, the country is third in terms of finalists and second after Thailand in the Professional division with 115 Philippine finalists. Korea is second overall because of its Non-Professional finalists.
In the Products & Services category, TBWASantiago Mangada Puno leads with 25 finalists. BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines is second with 17 shortlisted entries. DM9 (4), Leo Burnett (2), DDB (1) also make appearances in the shortlist.
Leo Burnett Manila is the local agency with the most finalists (9) in the Public Service Advertising (PSA) category. Bates 141 has two in the shortlist, while DM9 JaymeSyfu and Y&R Philippines have one finalist each.
In the Craft category, TBWA continues its domination with 40 finalists, followed by Leo Burnett Manila with 10 finalists. DDB Philippines also has one entry.
BBDO Guerrero and Y&R Philippines have one finalist apiece in the Interactive category.
Winners will be announced in Busan, South Korea on August 27, 2011.
