PHILIPPINES , NOVEMBER 17, 2010 – The United Print Media Group, the umbrella organization of the Philippine print media industry, will hold its inaugural Print Media Congress at the Blue Leaf in McKinley Hill, Taguig City on November 25, 2010. The congress precedes the 2nd Tinta Awards, the Philippine Press Awards.
Despite the countless predictions of its end, print remains an important, effective and influential medium of communication. Themed "Print is Powerful", the congress celebrates print media and advertising through talks from distinguished local and regional speakers.

Former Presidential Management Staff chief Herminio "Sonny" Coloma, now Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, will deliver the keynote address.
Flying in from the regional offices in Singapore are two multi-awarded creatives: JWT South East Asia Regional Executive Creative Director and Global ECD for Unilever brand Lux, Tay Guan Hin, will speak about "Excellence in Advertising", while TBWA Asia-Pacific Creative At Large John Merrifield will discuss "Global Trends in Print Ads".
Philippine Daily Inquirer Chairman Sandy Prieto-Romualdez and BBDO Guerrero Chairman and Chief Creative Officer David Guerrero, leaders in their fields, will talk about "Print versus other media?" and "The real power of print", respectively.
The congress will also have a panel discussion among advertising, sales, editorial and public relations practitioners. Research agencies Nielsen and Synovate will also present on the current state of print media.
