GBA is an all-digital award show, including not just internet ads and websites, but also digital TV, digital billboards & signage, digital projections, exhibits and displays. There are almost 50 categories that consider solo, design, campaign and global campaign submissions. As an all-digital competition, the Global Best Digital Advertising Awards honors the Best of the Best of advertising creatives establishing themselves as the pioneers in the advertising arts of the 21st century. Boonsri Trakulpat, managing director Asia for the inaugural GBA, joins directly from the Thailand-based Asia-Pacific ADFEST, where she has worked for over 10 years.
Submissions are entirely online. Judging for the elimination round will be done completely online by an international VIP panel of advertising creatives and the finalists will be judged again, online, but by a jury on location in Thailand. The competition hosts a "Wild Card" category that is completely wide open and essentially allows for any submission including those that run contrary to the rules of other competitions. There is also an international student competition as part of their annual offering. For the inaugural year students can choose from three different challenges and submit a campaign as individuals or as a team.
Submissions have a February 15th, 2011 deadline. To learn more, visit www.digitaladawards.com.
