TAGUIG CITY – Get your Filipino pride on as Southeast Asia’s leading travel and lifestyle channel is bringing back the highly-anticipated TLC Festival to the Philippines on Saturday, November 4! Last year, more than 100,000 Filipino fans thronged the festival. This year’s edition, themed “Go Lokal” is a celebration of all things Filipino, showcasing the best that the Philippines has to offer!
The festival will kick off at 10am on Bonifacio High Street. Revel in gastronomical experiences, timeless entertainment, and a stellar celebrity line-up! Comedian Eri Neeman once again hosts the event, which will be headlined by some of TLC’s most popular celebrities – America’s all-time favorite baker Cake Boss Buddy Valastro and celebrity chef Luke Nguyen! Also at this year’s festival are Patty Lee and Sharon Huang – two vivacious new hosts from TLC’s Fun Taiwan series. Look out for familiar faces Ramon Bautista, RA Rivera, Jun Sabayton, Lourd De Veyra and Angel Rivero from Discovery Channel’s You Have Been Warned Asia, as well as Troy Montero from Worst Vacation Ever, who will be joining in the fun.
At last year’s festival, Cake Boss Buddy Valastro received such an amazing Filipino welcome that he’s back for more so let’s show him the love! Prepare your piping bags and bring your Filipino flair to dress your favorite local pastries at the festival’s cake workshop – you never know, “The Boss” might just swing by. Episodes of the latest season of Cake Boss 9 will premiere on November 15, Wednesdays, at 9pm, on TLC Philippines.
Celebrity chef Luke Nguyen will also be at this year’s festival to dish out cooking tips and share his latest gastronomical escapades from Luke Nguyen’s Street Food Asia. Episodes from the show air November 13 to 16, Monday to Thursday, at 6.15pm, on TLC Philippines. Chop, slice and sauté your way into the TLC Kitchen. Tickle your taste buds and transform your well-loved Pinoy dishes into something fresh and exciting with our TLC chefs at this cooking workshop.
Pinoy pride takes center stage at this year’s festival. Check out the three exciting zones – Kanto Kultura, Byaheng Bayan and Street Sarap – uncovering Philippines’ unique culture, arts and cuisine! Immerse your senses at Kanto Kultura and soak in the sounds of Tambayan Tunes. At Byaheng Bayan, support local and explore Shop Lokal (Tiangge), an Asian night market-inspired area featuring a variety of artisanal and artistically made products crafted by local merchants and creative entrepreneurs. Ladies, you don’t want to miss this: our resident art experts at Rosas Atbp will be showing how to mix and match different flowers to create your very own floral headband – perfect headwear to capture that awesome instagrammable moment! What’s more, this year’s festival also brings together a taste of various artisanal delights at Street Sarap, where Filipino foodies will be treated to specially made, locally-inspired yet modern dishes and treats. And to complete the lokal experience, Ely Buendia will dominate the evening at the main stage.
